Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities.  Other duties may be assigned)

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process in a residential SUD treatment environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive and ongoing health assessments; monitor, document, and report changes in resident condition.
  • Administer medications (oral, injectable, IV, and other approved routes) in accordance with provider orders, Oregon RN scope of practice, and facility policy.
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and adherence; provide resident education using a whole-person, trauma-informed approach.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with residents and the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Participate in admissions, discharges, and transitions of care, including health screenings and medication reconciliation.
  • Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies; perform first aid, BLS/CPR, crisis intervention, and withdrawal management as indicated.
  • Provide therapeutic nursing interventions aligned with treatment plans and evidence-based SUD and behavioral health practices.
  • Coordinate care and communicate clinical information with providers, psychiatrists, residential staff, and external partners while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and legible documentation in the electronic health record in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure residents receive and understand Patient Rights and Responsibilities at admission in terms, language, and in a format that is demonstrably understood.
  • Support a safe, secure, and therapeutic treatment environment, including infection prevention and safety monitoring while maintaining a professional and comforting bedside manner.
  • Provide clinical guidance, training, and oversight of medication administration practices for delegated staff as applicable.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, chart reviews, audits, and accreditation readiness (e.g., Joint Commission).
  • Attend required meetings, supervision, and trainings; work collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oregon, must maintain licensure in good standing
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • AVADE training and CPR certification within 90 days of hire
  • Successful completion of background check
  • Tuberculosis Screening
  • Sufficient ability and knowledge of: English, spelling, math to compile reports, understand requisitions, maintain records, and perform various clerical tasks
