Position Summary 
 
The Program Supervisor supervises and coordinates the delivery of the Parent Mentor Program, based on expertise developed during 3 or more years of providing Certified Recovery Mentoring services. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities  
  • Coordinate the implementation of Parent Mentor Program and assures that the program is implemented consistent with stated goals, objectives and Morrison policies and procedures.  
  • Supervise, support, and develop a team of Parent Mentors.  
  • Supervise a Peer Supervisor.  
  • Conduct weekly, strength-based supervision with mentors.  Supervision to include professional development personalized to each individual mentor.  
  • Provide regular in-office support, skill development, encouragement, and feedback to mentors  
  • Develop knowledge and expertise related to the implementation of the Parent Mentor Program.  
  • Oversee and monitor quality of all recordkeeping and documentation of supervisees for completeness and accuracy.  
  • Prepare monthly invoices for ODHS  
  • Assist Program Manager to prepare and compile assigned reports in a timely manner.  
  • Maintain positive, effective, collaborative relationships with ODHS staff and all community partners.  
  • Communicate regularly with ODHS staff to facilitate referral development.  
  • Oversee coordination of weekly team meetings, including agendas, case assignment and referral tracking by Peer Supervisor.  
  • Attend weekly management meeting with program Management Team.  
  • Occasional statewide travel required, including some evenings and weekends.  
  • Identify staff training needs and arrange trainings and consultation to address needs.  
  • Represent PMP community meetings with ODHS and other community partners.  
  • Other duties as assigned to support the Parents Mentor Program’s teams & services.
  • Models’ safe language and demonstrates appropriate boundaries with peers and clients. Intervenes and provides support when staff, clients or families are unsafe with language or behaviors. (nonviolence)

  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices. 
  • Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare organization.    
Core Competencies 
  • Knowledge and understanding or personal experience with Substance Use Disorder, SUD treatment, and the process of being in recovery    
  •  Knowledge and understanding of the Child Welfare system and Self Sufficiency programs  
  •  Knowledgeable about current trends and best practices related to SUD treatment and recovery support via active participation in peer professional networks, meetings, trainings, and events  
  •  Knowledge and commitment to Parent Mentor Program model of service delivery.  
  •  Position requires personal transportation allowing for regular travel to the Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Beaverton metropolitan areas for meetings and trainings.  If driving a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license for the state of residency, personal auto liability insurance, and a driving record permitting coverage under corporate auto liability policy.  
  •  Bloodborne Pathogens training is required on the first day of employment.  
  •  Must pass a criminal history check.   
  •  May work outside of normal business hours including weekends and evenings.  
  •  Demonstrates an ability to work with diverse populations in a variety of environments

Experience/Education Requirements 
  •  A minimum of 3 years of experience providing peer-delivered services as a Certified Recovery Mentor  
  •  A minimum of 2 years of experience supervising Parent Mentors preferred.

Working Conditions 
  
Environment: Work is done in clinical offices, community settings, including Morrison Residential, administration buildings, public locations, and social service sites. Breaks and meals are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to address the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants.  
  
Mental demands: Work assigned is diverse and may involve addressing new and unique circumstances. The work might be unpredictable and disrupts planned tasks, requiring flexible time management.  
  
Physical demands: Ability to remain calm and emotionally available serving youth, adults and or families who have experienced trauma. Proficient with office equipment and physical movement. Ability to perform physical interventions if needed in accordance with program and training. Physical dexterity for reaching, stooping, and repetitive wrist and hand motions.
